Orion Group is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Delivery to oversee the successful execution of non-infrastructure capital programs. This is a senior leadership role requiring a breadth of relevant industry experience in delivering major capital programs for utility clients and a proven track record of delivering to time, cost, and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Form excellent relationships with Senior Leadership Team members to ensure all delivery aspects are represented in optimum solution delivery strategies.
- Lead the team safely, ensuring rigorous adherence to Time, Cost, and Quality requirements in line with the commercial model agreed with the client.
- Coordinate all pre-con and constructability input during solutions identification, design development, and construction stages.
- Manage various departmental stakeholders to ensure buy-in of delivered solutions.
- Ensure rigorous project management processes are developed and maintained that result in positive outcomes.
- Ensure control of accurate management of scope, including contractual change.
- Provide an overview and sign-off of governance and gate completion documentation.
- Form effective relationships with various project-delivery disciplines and program stakeholders.
- Develop the delivery strategy for projects as they pass through clients' gated governance process.
- Work closely with Supply Chain Lead, building delivery relationships that will assist effective outcomes on value for money, quality, safety, and constructability.
- Ensure alignment with key Client's vision through delivery of the contract.
- Ensure solutions are delivered sustainably, with cost and carbon opportunities realized.
- Set and maintain the delivery strategy to align with outcome requirements.
- Hold accountability for the commercial performance of the projects passing through governance gateways.
- Maintain and influence opportunities to support off-setting of the Target Efficiency Factor.
- Review and implement improvement plans relative to health and safety KPI information.
- Manage the Operational Team resource, forecast, and plan to meet changing requirements.
- Manage and mentor approximately 6 direct reports (Operations Leads).
- Lead in establishing productive client and subcontract relationships.
- Produce reports and board papers as required.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary operations staff across multiple sites.
- Motivational individual with strong leadership qualities.
- Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
- Expert working knowledge of major program portfolio on design and construct projects.
- Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered or Professional Body accreditation preferred.
- Trained in Operational Health and Safety procedures and policies.
- Experience of PLC policies and procedures relating to BMS / Quality / Employment.
