Job Title: Shipping Manager

AVASK is seeking a highly skilled Shipping Manager to join our team. As a Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping strategy and daily operations of our international VAT and tax services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring innovative solutions and compliance with UK legislation.
  • Work with Service Partners to ensure service levels are met and client service levels are maintained.
  • Review pricing strategies and conduct profit margin analysis to maintain competitiveness.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations for shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place, design out risk of error, and implement procedures.
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives for freight forwarding, shipping, and import/exports.
  • Identify and drive leads to the business, ensuring high levels of successful engagement.
  • Support leadership in defining function and objectives, strategy, and executing initiatives.
  • Assist in cross-functional process analysis and development of effective policies and procedures for the UK office.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret external and internal data, writing reports.
  • Deliver exceptional levels of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to the ongoing program of developments in software systems to deliver business efficiencies and improved customer experience, continuously looking to improve department performance to support business goals.

Requirements:

  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Proven experience as Shipping Manager or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures.
  • Experience with preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and communications skills are required.
  • Ability to set priorities, multi-task, meet critical deadlines, and pay attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills.
