About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Language and Literature Specialist to join our team at Wakefield Council. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English and Literacy curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Lead and manage a team of English teachers and literacy specialists to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Collaborate with other subject leaders and department heads to develop and implement a cohesive and effective curriculum across the school
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in English and Literacy, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, colleges, and universities to ensure that our students have access to a range of educational and career opportunities
Requirements
  • Qualified teacher status with a specialization in English Language and Literature
  • Proven experience of leading and managing a team of teachers and literacy specialists
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
