We are seeking an inspirational and enthusiastic classroom English practitioner to join our successful and vibrant English Department at Outwood Grange Academy.


The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for English education, with a strong commitment to creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.


As a member of our English Department, you will be part of a large and successful team of 20 teachers and three one-to-one tutors, working together to prepare students for Eduqas GCSE English Language and English Literature qualifications.


We have a strong whole-school literacy strategy, which aims to ensure that all students can gain the educational and personal benefits of reading. Specialist literacy teaching assistants support emergent readers using the Ruth Miskin phonics programme.


Our English Department is a fantastic place to start or develop your career, with a large allocation of classrooms, full-time staff teaching entirely or almost entirely in one room, and a library that is part of the English Department.


We believe our success speaks for itself, as we are well above the national average for the number of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSEs.
