Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Therapist, specifically a Systemic Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist, to become part of our established SET CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and skilled team during a pivotal time, as we have secured funding to provide an intensive support pathway aimed at preventing hospital admissions. This includes home treatment and a day program designed to help children and young people remain at home.
We understand that working in the field of eating disorders can be both rewarding and challenging. Therefore, we offer excellent supervision and reflective practice sessions, alongside opportunities for skill development through collaborative work, internal training, and access to external courses. As our service expands, there will be opportunities for career advancement and contributions to service development.
Recognizing the pressures of working within the NHS, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance for our team members, with flexibility around family-friendly hours whenever possible.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for an individual passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care to young people and their families, particularly in the area of eating disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people facing these challenges.
We will support you in developing skills for delivering evidence-based treatments. Families are central to our approach, and our intensive pathway aligns with current evidence-based treatment methodologies, including Maudsley family-based treatment and CBT-E.
Working with NELFT
We encourage all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as this is crucial for the safety of our patients and colleagues.
This position will include a probationary period, with internal applicants exempt unless currently undergoing probation.
We place great importance on welcoming and inducting new employees into our Trust. New hires will join us on the first Monday of each month and participate in a comprehensive induction program that includes mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. New starters will also have the chance to meet senior management and participate in various engagement sessions focused on health, wellbeing, and essential processes.
Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage a caseload and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to address the physical and psychological needs of young individuals. This innovative approach will enable us to deliver exceptional care to families navigating the complexities of eating disorders.
Our service covers a broad geographical area, and the role will involve a blend of remote and in-person interactions, adapting to the service's demands. As a developing service, we will continuously assess our offerings based on the needs of the families and young people we serve.
The selected candidate will work alongside colleagues to provide NICE-compliant psychological interventions for young people and families dealing with eating disorders and related issues.
As a member of the CAMHS ED team, you will have access to specialized supervision in family-based treatment and CBT-E, with opportunities for both individual and group supervision, including safeguarding supervision. The post holder may also provide supervision to junior team members as necessary.
