Job Summary
We're seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Porter to assist our chefs in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchen areas are clean, tidy, and well-organized, allowing our chefs to focus on delivering exceptional cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and sanitized at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, including floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Porterage and Storage
- Collect and wash up pots, pans, and utensils in a timely and efficient manner.
- Unload food and equipment deliveries, and store them in designated areas.
- Food Preparation
- Assist chefs in preparing ingredients and dishes as required.
- Prepare salads, desserts, and other menu items as needed.
- Teamwork and Communication
- Work effectively with chefs, kitchen porters, and other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and management.
Requirements
- Previous Kitchen Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is highly desirable.
- Initiative and Motivation
- Ability to work on your own initiative and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
- Team Player
- Desire to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic kitchen team.
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
