Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join our team at Jackson Hogg, a leading global company, to support our commercial operations.
As the In-House Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our business teams, ensuring that our commercial contracts are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
You will work closely with our senior management team, directors, and other stakeholders to maintain, draft, and review all live commercial contracts, as well as create template contracts where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Contract Management: Providing legal advice and support to the business in respect of commercial contracts, including tenders, offers, and negotiations.
- Contract Review and Drafting: Advising the senior management team and directors on the content and risks of each contract, maintaining, drafting, and reviewing all live commercial contracts.
- Template Contract Creation: Creating template contracts where appropriate, to ensure consistency and efficiency in our commercial operations.
- Legal Advice and Support: Providing tangible and hands-on legal advice on matters specific to the business, including risk management and compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Teaming up with finance, procurement, customer finance, and contract management to achieve the best result in contracts and projects, promoting cross-functional and international collaboration.
- Dispute Resolution: Formalizing amendments and changes to relevant contracts, preparing files and drafting letters with respect to any disputes escalated to legal action stage.
Your Profile:
- Minimum 5 years PQE: You should have a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation: You should have extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiations, with a strong understanding of commercial contracts and their implications.
- PLC Compliance: You should be familiar with PLC compliance, including MAR (Management Assessment Report) and website disclosures.
- Commercial Acumen: You should be commercially minded and robust, with a strong analytical and communication skills across all levels of seniority within the business.
- Language Skills: You should have excellent command of English, both written and verbal, and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders of all levels with confidence.
