Position Overview:

Gel Engineering Ltd is in search of an experienced Project Management Specialist to enhance our innovative team. This position provides an opportunity to oversee the effective execution of essential water and wastewater initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, scope, and quality standards.

As a Project Management Specialist, you will guide the project team in the development, procurement, and delivery of intricate major projects at various sewage treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and identify new project opportunities through strategic business relationships.
  • Oversee project activities from inception to completion, with full accountability for profit and loss outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects, reporting on budget variances and actual performance metrics.
  • Clearly articulate project scope and maintain control through established company processes and protocols.
  • Uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety through effective supervision, management practices, inspections, and monitoring.
  • Keep management and stakeholders informed on project progress in relation to the established plan, managing scope through change management procedures.
  • Continuously seek to enhance Project Management practices across the organization.
  • Delegate responsibilities and manage resources from various business units or subcontractors to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct site evaluations and prepare risk assessments as necessary.
  • Operate projects within designated budget limits and promptly report any unexpected variances.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk and issue register, developing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Complete project handovers and closures, including lessons learned documentation and transition to business as usual.
  • Serve as the primary contact for engineers and technicians regarding contractual and technical inquiries.
  • Utilize financial management tools to ensure accurate and current commercial information.
  • Prepare necessary risk assessments and method statements.
  • Keep senior management informed throughout the delivery of multiple projects.
  • Manage invoicing processes to ensure timely realization of financial benefits.
  • Adhere to all system processes in accordance with the management framework.
  • Oversee supplier deliveries and procurement activities.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with established guidelines.

Possess broad knowledge of the utility industry and business operations, with prior experience in delivering major complex projects (valued up to £100m) within a regulated infrastructure context.
