Position Overview

As a vital member of our technical team, you will report directly to the EC&I Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with maintenance activities while assisting in the calibration and testing of systems. This position operates primarily during weekdays, with some flexibility required for occasional weekend shifts to support the operational needs of the EC&I team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all assigned maintenance tasks and inspections to guarantee adherence to relevant legislation and site maintenance protocols.
  • Create detailed risk assessments and method statements for your work.
  • Identify and resolve issues within low voltage electrical systems as necessary, aiding the EC&I Engineer in the maintenance and testing of site electrical systems.
  • Deliver expert support in process plant instrumentation, including troubleshooting, calibration, and testing.
  • Assist the EC&I Engineer and planner in all aspects of work control and planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental standards (e.g., LANXESS, COMAH, DSEAR, IEC61511, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001).
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and actively participate in their implementation.
  • Provide commissioning assistance to project engineers for new installations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of a trade apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical or EC&I or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a process plant environment, preferably within an upper tier COMAH site.
  • Familiarity with engineering procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of high voltage/low voltage systems and distributed control systems (DCS) or industrial automation control systems (IACS).
  • Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety regulations, including ATEX, PUWER, and Functional Safety. COMPEX certification is preferred.
  • Trained in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP S4/Hanna for asset management is advantageous.
