Position Overview

Job Title: Monitoring and Instrumentation Specialist

Company: Red Sky Personnel is collaborating with a leading global contractor for a significant undertaking involving extensive excavation and tunneling operations.

Role Summary: Support the Instrumentation and Monitoring Manager in the design, execution, and oversight of Instrumentation and Monitoring frameworks. Ensure effective management of structural mitigation strategies, defect assessments, and inspections.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with designers and stakeholders to guarantee the successful development of monitoring strategies.
  • Ensure that monitoring frameworks are in sync with construction schedules.
  • Oversee and manage design documentation.
  • Supervise data collection and analysis processes.
  • Draft and evaluate Action Plans.
  • Present monitoring findings and interpret data outcomes.
  • Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective measures.
  • Compile reports and assess site operations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and external parties.
  • Foster community and third-party relationships.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Instrumentation and Monitoring techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized software applications.
  • Understanding of structural and geotechnical principles.
  • Experience in railway and underground environments is advantageous.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, mining, or construction disciplines.
  • Alternatively, HNC/HND with substantial technical experience.
  • Background in construction or mining sectors.
  • Prior experience in rail and underground environments.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • Possession of a Sentinel Card.
