A Day in the Life

As a Chef de Partie, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all stocks are kept under optimum conditions
  • Preparing all mise en place freshly and on time
  • Preparing all dishes to the correct recipe and quantity
  • Presenting all dishes correctly garnished, portioned, and sized
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy section at all times
  • Providing training and guidance to junior cooks and trainees
  • Communicating anticipated shortages to the Sous Chef or Head Chef
  • Deputizing in the Sous Chef's absence and taking charge of the kitchen when directed
  • Attending training courses and seminars as required
  • Studying management subjects for future advancement
  • Ensuring adherence to company rules and regulations on Hygiene, Health, and Safety
