Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team at GIOS Technology.
Position Overview:
- Engage with the Payments Orchestration Layer platform team.
- Hands-on DevOps professional capable of working autonomously with a solid understanding of IKP.
- Proficient in Jenkins scripting.
- Experience in observability tools such as Prometheus.
- Strong expertise in Kafka, not just as a user but as a contributor.
- The Payments Orchestration Layer (POL) aims to create a streamlined and reusable payment orchestration engine that effectively manages payment processes from initiation to execution, eliminating redundant code and integrating necessary applications for a seamless payment journey.
- This initiative focuses on configuring Microservices to meet the evolving demands of partners and market schemes for expedited delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the DevOps function for the POL platform.
- Collaborate with architecture and application teams to analyze project requirements.
- Assist in transforming existing POL applications to align with advanced architectural standards.
- Support the operational aspects of payment solutions.
- Influence and adhere to internal DevOps principles.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Facilitate broader architectural discussions.
Major Accountabilities:
- Guide the DevOps team in automating infrastructure delivery and executing DevSecOps value streams.
- Provide solutions to both technical and business challenges.
- Implement technology strategies in line with corporate vision.
- Stay informed on business and technology strategies to leverage competitive advantages.
- Contribute to the development of strategic technical architecture.
- Offer technical leadership and guidance to management.
- Maintain current knowledge of advancements in technology and business strategies relevant to the role.
- Identify process improvements and advise management accordingly.
- Resolve any architectural or development challenges that arise.
- Offer technical consultation to project teams as directed.
- Assist in the planning, design, programming, documentation, and implementation of systems.
- Review existing systems to ensure operational integrity and achievement of objectives.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs as necessary.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and senior management to define cloud strategies and conduct proof of concepts for new technologies.
- Provide architectural guidance to developers based on best practices and global standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant controls and standards.
- Stay updated on tools, technologies, and regulations related to cybersecurity and data privacy.
- Ensure resilience and sustainability of services while meeting recovery time objectives for all software solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
- 6+ years of experience with Kafka, including contributions to the open-source project.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure components such as Linux OS, networking, and storage.
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Expertise in monitoring and observability technologies such as Prometheus and Splunk.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and DevOps practices, including network and IAM management.
- Preferred experience with SQL coding.
- Familiarity with the payments industry is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and think creatively.
- Passion for leading and developing technology professionals through mentoring.
- Excellent listening skills and a quick learner, with accountability for both individual and company success.
- Strong critical thinking skills for problem identification and solution recommendations.
- A collaborative team player with initiative and sound judgment.
- Highly adaptable, able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
