We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading by example in our commitment to delivering world-class services.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Clinical Expertise
- Exercise leadership and demonstrate experienced nursing skill and competence.
- Supervise junior staff at all levels and ensure that the agreed standards of orthopaedic nursing are provided.
- Assist senior sister/senior charge nurse with the implementation of Government/NHS papers and policies.
- Resource Management and Planning
- Have an understanding of resource management and be actively involved with the ordering of supplies/equipment within the Trust financial policies.
- Participate in the management of the hospital as necessary as clinical site co-ordinator per the requirements of the clinical site co-ordinator rota.
- Professional Development and Education
- Hold or be working towards a recognised post graduate orthopaedic qualification.
- Act as a mentor, student assessor, supervisor, preceptor and role model to junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants.
- Quality and Safety
- Ensure that nursing practices within your area comply with the Trust's policies and procedures.
- Assist staff in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the care given to patients, whilst monitoring quality standards.
