We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically capable Band 5 Trained Nurse to join our nursing team at Newquay Community Hospital. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant inpatient ward experience and excellent organisational, communication, and clinical skills. They will be able to act as a positive role model and provide mentorship to pre and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants.

The role involves undertaking a range of duties on a rotational basis, including Early, Late, and Night shifts, to support 24-hour nursing care, 7 days a week. Although based at Newquay Community Hospital, the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to support other hospitals in the locality as service needs require.

We are looking for motivated, forward-thinking individuals with a passion for nursing. In return, we will provide support for career development and involve the successful candidate in the future development of services.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assessing care needs and developing and implementing programmes of care in the ward setting
  2. Providing leadership and guidance to the team, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care
  3. Mentoring pre and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants
  4. Working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
Person Specification
  • Evidence of team working and collaboration
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning
  • Experience of working within a community hospital and care of the elderly setting
  • First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)
