We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically capable Band 5 Trained Nurse to join our nursing team at Newquay Community Hospital. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant inpatient ward experience and excellent organisational, communication, and clinical skills. They will be able to act as a positive role model and provide mentorship to pre and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants.
The role involves undertaking a range of duties on a rotational basis, including Early, Late, and Night shifts, to support 24-hour nursing care, 7 days a week. Although based at Newquay Community Hospital, the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to support other hospitals in the locality as service needs require.

Main Responsibilities- Assessing care needs and developing and implementing programmes of care in the ward setting
- Providing leadership and guidance to the team, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care
- Mentoring pre and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants
- Working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
- Evidence of team working and collaboration
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning
- Experience of working within a community hospital and care of the elderly setting
- First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
