Main Duties of the Job

The role of the Health and Wellbeing Advisor will be to guide, educate, and support staff members in improving their physical and mental health. This will involve developing knowledge, skills, and confidence to change health-related behaviours, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.

The successful candidate will work to reduce health inequalities and develop health information in various ways to ensure staff have a comprehensive understanding of good health and healthy lifestyles.

Working for Our Organisation

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff, designed to support leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver healthy lifestyle advice on a 1-1 and/or group basis, translating health improvement knowledge into practice.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops to promote health and wellbeing.
  • Work to reduce health inequalities and develop health information to support staff.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess specialist knowledge of health and wellbeing, current national and local policies, and the ability to develop and facilitate workshops. A registered nurse/midwife with experience of delivering healthy lifestyle advice is essential. Desirable criteria include MECC training, coaching experience, and a teaching qualification.
