Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Bristol & Glasgow - Travel required

Compensation: £70,000 + car/car allowance + stay away package

Fourblue is collaborating with a prominent Independent Connection Provider (ICP) that is instrumental in facilitating connections for electrical initiatives throughout the UK. With a robust order book extending into the foreseeable future, this is an opportune moment to become part of a dynamic team. The role encompasses a variety of projects, including but not limited to, Renewable Energy installations (wind, solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Storage Power), Industrial & Commercial (I&C), and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging systems up to 132kV.

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Project Engineer:

  • Oversee effective project management and execution across a diverse array of high-voltage electrical projects, including engagement with clients, consultants, and their representatives
  • Develop project construction schedules and manage activities to align with the construction timeline
  • Participate in site project progress and coordination meetings, conducting inspections and audits of site work to ensure quality and adherence to timelines
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and providing forecasts for financial reporting
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to meet project objectives and client expectations
  • Lead in-house design and engineering teams to create equipment layouts, designs, cable schedules, and testing and commissioning protocols
  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturers regarding design, installation, and commissioning, while obtaining competitive tenders from the supply chain
  • Handle procurement for project needs
  • Identify and organize resource and logistical requirements for projects
  • Provide proactive support and guidance to all stakeholders on compliance with statutory regulations and company standards

Qualifications for the Electrical Project Engineer:

  • Demonstrated experience working with an ICP, IDNO, or DNO, with a minimum voltage level of 33kV
  • Proven track record in managing projects within a similar sector
  • Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
