Civil and Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Alcea Consultancy. As a key member of our Civil Engineering Department, you will have the opportunity to expand and grow your career in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work on various residential and non-residential projects across the UK, collaborating with clients, third-party consultants, and council officers to deliver high-quality results.
  2. Liaise with the wider engineering team to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication.
  3. Assist in the management of a team and/or manage the team itself, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.
  4. Manage your own workload and deadlines, running your own projects with minimal supervision.
  5. Utilize CAD software, including Microstation, to create detailed designs and models.
  6. Apply your expertise in drainage and 3D design software, such as Flow and PDS, to develop innovative solutions.
  7. Conduct due diligence and feasibility reviews of potential sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Prepare submission packs for planning, including Outline, Detail, and Full submissions.
  9. Complete technical design submissions, including S38, S278, and S104, to achieve approval.
  10. Develop groundworks packages for tender and construction, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  11. Produce private engineering designs for on-plot civil works, where applicable.
  12. Stay up-to-date with the planning process and associated documents, including Flood Risk Assessments.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant degree-level education, preferably in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Proficient knowledge of UK drainage and flood risk management.
  3. Strong understanding of client and local authority standards and requirements.
  4. Proficiency in Microdrainage/Flow, Microstation/AutoCAD, and Causeway PDS software.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  6. Proven experience in team management and leadership.
