About the Role

We are seeking a skilled General Building Operative to join our team at HMP Liverpool. As a key member of the Works Department, you will be responsible for carrying out both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist other trades in completing tasks and projects
  • Perform general building duties such as painting, carpentry, and signage installation
  • Conduct fire alarm and emergency lighting checks
  • Work collaboratively with the prison staff to ensure a safe and secure environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a prison or public sector environment is desirable but not required
  • Ability to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS check
  • Reliable and consistent work ethic
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Valid passport or full birth certificate and photo driving license
  • Proof of National Insurance and proof of address dated within the past 3 months
