Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with outstanding leadership, communication, and project management skills to work on projects for one of our main clients in Scotland. The successful candidate will have a track record of project delivery with a focus on Transmission Overhead Lines, as well as demonstrable experience in developing diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operational teams during both tender and implementation stages of projects with a wide range of transmission overhead line design activities.
  • Develop and lead an 'in-house' design capability that can provide design services to UK DNOs and TSOs.
  • Support the Business Unit's strategic plan in developing business with new and existing customers, in both a support role for construction projects and as a lead manager for design services.
  • Take responsibility for all design elements of new build and refurbishment of overhead transmission lines in the UK.
  • Develop the Omexom overhead line design capability to provide services to the DNO and TSO markets.
  • Manage design staff in an efficient manner, including appointing and providing training where necessary.
  • Business development with DNOs and TSOs, including prospecting, tendering, and delivering design services.
  • Manage all design elements within tender and construction phases of construction contracts.
  • Represent Omexom UK within the global Omexom engineering network/clubs.
  • Promote Safety, Health, and Environmental awareness of all design staff.
  • Ensure the quality of all design submissions.
  • Promote and enforce company procedures to design staff.
  • Review method statements/risk assessments ensuring compliance with Design Documents.
  • Develop and implement new industry software where applicable.

Requirements

  • BSc/BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 15 years of OHL design and construction industry experience.
  • Detailed understanding of the latest OHL design practices, standards, and analysis software systems.
  • Suitable site experience/understanding, including foundation setting out and construction, structure assembly and erection, conductor erection, and temporary works.
