As a Senior Analyst in Monitoring, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Compliance Monitoring by providing assurance that regulatory compliance controls are functioning effectively through comprehensive monitoring reviews across various business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct thematic Compliance Monitoring reviews in accordance with a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan across multiple regulated entities.
· Oversee compliance monitoring and reporting as outlined in the Compliance Monitoring Plan, ensuring that the organization adheres to regulatory standards and promptly addresses any breaches.
· Offer recommendations to address any identified control deficiencies or training needs during compliance monitoring activities.
· Assist in the communication and reporting of compliance monitoring results, while proactively seeking ways to enhance efficiency in reporting and routine tasks.
· Manage the tracking, closure, and reporting process for Compliance Monitoring review actions.
· Contribute to the development of the risk-based Annual Compliance Monitoring plan.
· Perform technical research on UK and international regulations to guide planning and execution of monitoring reviews.
· Foster strong relationships with various business units, particularly with other assurance providers.
· Aid in the design and upkeep of essential Compliance Monitoring documentation.
· Stay informed on regulatory developments, reviewing new consultation papers and policy statements to ensure that emerging risks are incorporated into Compliance Monitoring activities.
· Undertake additional tasks as reasonably required by the organization.
You will report directly to the Head of Compliance Monitoring.
Qualifications:
We're seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
Essential Skills:
· A strong desire to enhance compliance and insurance knowledge through training and development opportunities.
· Solid understanding of UK and European regulations.
· Proficient in producing clear and precise written documentation.
· Experience in compliance monitoring or testing within a general insurance context.
· Familiarity with risk and control evaluation programs in a compliance monitoring setting, with contributions to program design.
· Proven track record in delivering compliance initiatives effectively.
· Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
· Effective time management and prioritization skills.
· Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with business units at all levels and building effective working relationships.
· Ability to work independently, making informed decisions and recommendations.
· Capacity to operate both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Skills:
· Progress towards ACII or Compliance qualifications.
· Knowledge of US and APAC regulations.
· Proficient in MS Excel.
