Senior Ecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Hup Consulting. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients across the UK.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic ecologist to take on a senior role within our team. You will be responsible for leading ecological projects, managing junior team members, and providing technical expertise to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead ecological projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction;
- Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise;
- Provide technical expertise to clients, including habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and ecological impact assessments;
- Design and implement mitigation measures to minimize the impact of development on the environment;
- Conduct technical reviews of ecological reports and provide feedback to clients;
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects and achieve business objectives;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions;
- Stay up-to-date with the latest ecological research and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our services and deliver high-quality results.
- Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM);
- Experience of line managing or providing guidance to junior team members;
- Survey licence for one or more protected species;
- Experience of habitat surveys and protected species surveys;
- Experience of designing and implementing mitigation measures;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members;
- Full driving licence and use of a car.
