Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Sales MICE to join our team at Novotel London West. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding existing relationships through proactive efforts and sales channels. You will work closely with the Senior Commercial Team to develop client engagement levels and a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate the MICE Sales team to achieve sales budget targets.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on the contribution, focus, and activity of the MICE proactive & reactive sales team.
  • Contribute to the development of company sales and marketing initiatives by recommending, implementing, and monitoring appropriate activity.
  • Work closely with the MICE Sales Office Manager on the MICE Diary availability & pricing strategy.
  • Lead special projects that are time-bound, with strong management and communication ensuring the success of each task.
  • Be actively involved in the creation and delivery of the hotels sales & marketing plans to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for the MICE segment.
  • Meet individual KPIs and manage the team to achieve the same.
  • Manage a select portfolio of accounts in agreement with the DOSM.
  • Conduct sales trips and attend trade shows in both the UK and overseas.
  • Assist with the recruitment process for MICE Sales team members, ensuring effective processes are in place for the induction, training, and development of all team members.
  • Ensure performance is reviewed on a regular basis, recognising and celebrating success, and refocusing effort where required.
  • Contribute to relevant management meetings to develop and implement sales initiatives.
  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel, particularly Reservations and Banqueting, to create an exceptional Guest experience and build a strong & comprehensive sales offering.
  • Work with the Accor HQ Sales team to actively develop existing and new relationships and business opportunities.
  • Understand and report on new emerging markets/sectors.

  • Experience in a similar role with a proven track record.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent grooming standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team to perform beyond expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators, competitive trends, and develop approaches to these challenges - ability to move strategy to action.
  • Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to Team Members.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken is a must.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a senior MICE Sales position.
