Job Summary:

Utility Warehouse Limited is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Energy Manager to join our Energy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the optimization of our energy P&L, ensuring our customers receive the best deals, and future-proofing our energy supply and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Own the contract lifecycle of metering contracts across a customer base of approximately [insert number].
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage and optimize all metering and commercial supplier relationships on a substantial and growing base.
  • Commercial Levers: Actively work on key commercial levers to drive target outcomes on our metering portfolio and MAP agreements, identifying areas of risk and improvements to meet business objectives.
  • P&L Management: Deliver the P&L on the metering portfolio, with a detailed understanding of the cost base, contractual levers, and commercials.
  • Risk Management: Formally manage all in-life risks associated with contracts and report on these at least quarterly.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Work with Smart teams and Operations to ensure timely production of forecasts, challenges, and planning to share with suppliers.
  • Negotiation and Procurement: Negotiate and procure smart meters.
  • Team Management: Manage a high-performing team of analysts, providing coaching and development opportunities to team members.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in the energy industry.
  • Experienced in supplier relationship management and a deep understanding of the drivers of the P&L.
  • Ability to provide clear management across contracts, procurement, risk management, and negotiation.
  • Experience of developing and mentoring a high-performing team.
  • Educated to degree level in Business or Law (or equivalent experience).
  • Exceptional commercial acumen.
  • Ability to build enduring and mutually beneficial relationships with some of UW's most strategic commercial partners.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management.
