About the Role

As a Prisoner Escort Officer at Serco Plc, you will work as part of a crew to provide safe and secure court transportation and custody services.

You will collect detainees from prisons or police stations and transport them safely and securely to courts while ensuring the care of their physical and mental wellbeing.

Once you arrive at court, you will be responsible for every aspect of their care until it's time for them to return to custody or be released.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells
  • Search property or people
  • Ensure food and drink is available
  • Complete paperwork and data entry for the day
Requirements
  • Hold a current driver's license
  • Hold a C1 License (valid CPC card desirable) or D License (with valid CPC card & Tacho Graph desirable)
  • Be reasonably fit
  • Have good written and verbal communications skills

  • A competitive salary of £28,715 (40hrs pw)
  • Salary during 5 1⁄2 weeks training is £25,716
