We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to oversee plant operations at our recycling and waste management facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of operatives, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise a Team: Manage a team of operatives in a busy recycling and waste management facility, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Operate a Wheeled Loading Shovel (essential) and, when needed, a 360 Wheeled Excavator (desirable) to move materials and manage site operations.
- Coordinate Daily Tasks: Coordinate daily tasks and schedules to ensure optimal productivity and minimal downtime, monitoring the plant's operational performance and implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure Health and Safety: Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and environmental standards, conducting routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Train and Mentor: Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork, and communicate effectively with site management to report on performance and any operational issues.
- Assist with Site Inspections: Assist with site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a team leader or supervisory role, preferably in recycling, waste management, or a similar environment.
- Skills: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
