Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is in search of a Technical Operations Manager to oversee our ready-to-eat production facility. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Site Technical Manager and will be responsible for strategically managing the technical aspects of our Egg Processing Centre to ensure compliance with legal, customer, third-party, and business standards.


As a leading integrated free-range and organic egg enterprise, Stonegate Farmers Ltd operates across three key sectors: farming and agriculture, egg packing, and cooked egg processing. Our commitment to quality and safety is paramount as we handle millions of delicate food items daily, requiring a workforce that is both skilled and passionate.

We supply a diverse range of clients, from exclusive dining establishments to major UK supermarkets, alongside providing premium egg products to prominent food manufacturers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing food safety quality management system policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to fulfill our obligations regarding food safety, quality, authenticity, and integrity.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system to ensure safe practices and products in accordance with current regulations and customer expectations.
  • Effectively managing any changes in product, process, or environment to safeguard food safety, quality, authenticity, and customer reputation.
  • Ensuring compliance with BRC Global Standards for Food Safety, as well as customer and third-party requirements.
  • Overseeing and continuously improving the factory audit and surveillance testing programs.
  • Establishing systems to identify non-conformances related to quality, legality, and food safety, in line with Customer and Industry Codes of Practice.
  • Managing technically driven projects, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion while meeting all necessary requirements.
  • Creating and refining systems for monitoring, recording, and reporting product quality from various sources.
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of business performance as an integral member of the management team.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage risks and prioritize effectively.
  • A degree in food science or a related field.
  • Food Hygiene Level 4 certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical or QA management, particularly with private label retailer requirements.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with BRC accreditation, HACCP implementation, and quality system management.
  • Previous experience in a chilled, ready-to-eat manufacturing environment.
