Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Home Manager to join our team at our 44-bedded Residential Care Home in Chessington.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care for residents, delegating roles to nursing and care staff as appropriate.
  • Offer clinical supervision to Registered Nurses, ensuring they meet the needs of residents.
  • Act as a Shift Team Leader, supervising and developing care staff.
  • Contribute to the training of care staff, acting as a role model.
  • Participate in personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor, audit, and review the service, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Demonstrate high professional standards and leadership.
  • Assist the Home Manager with formal supervision and appraisal of staff.
  • Implement and adhere to Gold Care's policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with maintenance contractors and others involved in property maintenance.
  • Promote the service and Gold Care through effective communication.
  • Ensure excellent customer care to enhance the lives of people who use our services.
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of high-quality, person-centred care and support principles.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage a budget.
  • Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience of leading a shift and working in a care home environment.
  • Experience of working with individuals with dementia.
