Position Overview

Liberty Steel Group is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to become a vital member of our Electrical Maintenance Team. This team is responsible for delivering a range of critical services primarily to our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • The role involves providing electrical maintenance and repair services across various site infrastructures, including workshops, machine shops, testing facilities, and office buildings.
  • Applicants should ideally possess an apprenticeship background, with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Maintenance, and a minimum of two years of experience in electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair, preferably within a heavy industrial setting.
  • Team collaboration is essential, with a focus on adhering to safe working practices and ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Flexibility and self-motivation are crucial, as the role requires performing diverse tasks across multiple locations, necessitating ongoing training.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a methodical work approach, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, effective decision-making skills, and proficient communication abilities.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a solid understanding of:

  • Low Voltage (LV) networks, circuit breakers, and protective equipment.
  • Electrical testing techniques and troubleshooting skills.
  • Current IET regulations.
  • Experience in minor electrical installations and preparing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR).
  • AC inverters and direct-connected AC motors.
  • Allen Bradley PLCs and SCADA systems, including fault diagnosis using programming tools.
  • Good housekeeping practices and standards.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and related documentation.
  • Working confidently at heights.
  • A valid driving license.

This position operates on a rotating schedule, with standard working hours from 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays and 6 AM to 2 PM on weekends, along with opportunities for occasional overtime.
