The Role of the Electrical Technician
As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for attending breakdowns, fault finding, and undertaking planned maintenance schedules across a wide range of equipment.
The role will involve working a mixture of day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts to provide round-the-clock support to our modern rolling and finishing facility.
Liberty Steel Group recognizes the importance of individual excellence and offers a wide variety of in-house and external training to support and develop the right candidate.
Requirements of the Electrical Technician
Essential Requirements
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
- Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
- Experience of general electrical fault finding
- Experience of maintenance of A.C. and D.C. motors, drives (up to kW), inverters, and overhead crane maintenance
- Hold a recognized electrical apprenticeship (BTEC/ONC at level 3 and HNC/HND or equivalent)
- Experience with PLC investigation and interrogation (preferably Siemens S7)
- A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to safe working procedures, risk assessments, and permit systems
- Good level of problem-solving awareness
- Working from Heights
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience of completing work under calibration and industrial compliance systems
- Knowledge of and experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for reporting purposes
- Working knowledge of 18th Edition IET regulations
- Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
The Working Pattern of the Electrical Technician
This role includes 12-hour days and night shifts, including weekends with days off in the week.
