Job Title: Senior Construction Materials Specialist

We are seeking an experienced individual to apply their technical knowledge of construction materials to support the Manager of our Construction Materials Department.

The Construction Materials Department at Sandberg undertakes a range of mechanical and physical testing on construction materials, including concretes, aggregates, renders, mortars, stone, brick, screeds, and flooring materials. The department undertakes testing both on site and in the lab, as well as taking samples for later testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception to invoicing.
  • Conduct testing and inspections of construction materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of construction materials, including testing and inspection methods.
  • Report writing skills and a practical nature are essential.
  • Strong English language skills are important, both written and verbal.

Requirements:

  • Background in construction materials testing and inspection, including a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of defects/deterioration mechanisms within concrete construction.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in materials science or engineering.
