So, if you are someone who aspires to positively impact the lives of those we serve, this role is an excellent fit for you.

### Key Responsibilities

As a Recovery Worker on the helpline, you will play a vital role in our team, offering emotional support and a compassionate ear to a diverse array of callers.

Your expertise will be utilized to address mental health issues and broader social concerns, guiding callers to appropriate resources. You will assist callers in implementing coping strategies and provide support and guidance in acquiring new skills that foster well-being.

In this role, your ability to think quickly will be essential in helping callers manage their distress and providing crisis support when necessary.

  • Collaborating with service users to deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to aid in recovery.
  • Offering immediate assistance with problem-solving as required.
  • Identifying risk factors and ensuring the safety of service users.
  • Conducting appropriate referrals to both internal and external services based on identified needs.
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with required standards and contributing to service monitoring efforts.
  • Representing the service professionally at all times.
  • Participating in the co-development of the service by supporting service user, family, and carer involvement, gathering feedback, and facilitating opportunities for engagement in broader service evaluations.

### Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek an individual who can leverage their knowledge and experience to create a safe and supportive environment for those experiencing mental health crises, approaching each situation with compassion and a focus on recovery. Our ideal candidate possesses a natural ability to instill calmness and understanding without judgment, using their skills to assist a wide range of callers.

Experience in the mental health sector and a proven history of supporting individuals in distress are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, along with a composed and professional demeanor, are essential.

We are looking for a resilient and attentive individual who can maintain focus and alertness during busy shifts and effectively manage high call volumes.

Our candidate should have experience collaborating with various organizations, from statutory bodies to third-sector entities. Our team works closely with the NHS Trust to provide enhanced support and achieve the best outcomes for our callers.

We are in search of a committed individual who is eager to work collaboratively within a team to deliver the highest quality recovery-focused care.

The successful candidate will work a combination of shifts on a 24-hour rolling rota, including evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends.
