Associate Director – Geo-Environment

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious professional to lead our Geo-Environment team in the northwest, based in our Manchester office. As a key member of our 100-strong Business Unit, you will be responsible for delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care, and effective project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive business development activity to secure new clients and develop and nurture existing client relationships.
- Provide dynamic leadership to the Manchester team, supporting their development through coaching and mentoring, and growing the team by generating new and repeat business.
- Provide high-quality advice and innovative solutions to clients.
- Lead the negotiations of commercial fee proposals.
- Work closely with other disciplines, particularly Engineering and Planning, in Manchester and other offices across the NW, to develop and implement key client engagement plans and deliver work.
- Pro-actively promote Tetra Tech through networking, professional bodies, trade associations, etc.
- Oversee projects being delivered on time, within budget, and in line with appropriate quality standards, and carry out project finance control.
- Achieve revenue and profitability targets in line with objectives.
- A relevant degree, e.g., geology, engineering geology.
- Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (preferred).
- Extensive experience of geo-environmental, engineering geology, and brownfield work, particularly in the northwest.
- Detailed knowledge of market conditions, opportunities, competition, and client base in the northwest.
- Demonstrable business development success.
- Ideal experience in the renewables and/or nuclear sectors.
- Experience of team leadership and development of professional staff.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable revenue and profitability growth with your existing client base.
- Robust project management capability and a record of successfully delivering large projects.
- Demonstrable technical innovation experience.
