About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious professional to lead our Geo-Environment & Mining team in the northwest, based in our Manchester Office. As Associate Director, you will be responsible for driving business development activity to secure new clients and develop and nurture existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dynamic leadership to the Manchester team, supporting their development through coaching and mentoring, and growing the team by generating new and repeat business.
  • Provide high-quality advice and innovative solutions to clients, leading the negotiations of commercial fee proposals.
  • Work closely with other disciplines, particularly Engineering and Planning in Manchester and other offices across the NW, to develop and implement key client engagement plans and deliver work.
  • Pro-actively promote Tetra Tech through networking, professional bodies, trade associations, and other channels.
  • Oversee projects being delivered on time, within budget, and in line with appropriate quality standards, and carry out project finance control.
  • Achieve revenue and profitability targets in line with objectives, contributing to the business strategy of the Geo-Environment Team.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree, such as geology or engineering geology, and Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Extensive experience of geo-environmental, engineering geology, and brownfield work, particularly in the northwest.
  • Detailed knowledge of market conditions, opportunities, competition, and client base in the northwest.
  • Demonstrable business development success, with experience in the renewables and/or nuclear sectors.
  • Experience of team leadership and development of professional staff, with strong influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Robust project management capability and a record of successfully delivering large projects.
