Job Title: Functional Safety Calibration Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Safety Calibration Engineer to join our team at Robert Bosch Group. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our diesel vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement functional safety strategies and requirements for diesel vehicle systems, including engine control units (ECUs), sensors, and actuators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to calibrate and define safety requirements for achieving vehicle system objectives.
  • Design and execute calibration plans and test protocols to validate functional safety features.
  • Conduct on-road testing and validation of vehicle reaction functions.
  • Analyze test data and performance metrics to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Work closely with Software teams to implement calibration changes and enhancements.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of engine technology and vehicle dynamics.
  • Substantial experience in functional safety calibration for automotive applications.
  • Proficiency with engine calibration tools and simulation tools (INCA, ATI-Vision, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of functional safety principles and standards, including ISO 26262.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine emissions control systems preferred.
  • Experience using Matlab or other rule-based scripts is preferred.
