About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks, and administering medicines and vaccines.
  • Conduct new patient health checks and re-stocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines.
  • Clear and re-stock consulting rooms, prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
  • Provide valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families, and carers.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
  • Qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture
  • Experience of working within a GP practice
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post
  • Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
