Job Summary

The role of Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare involves delivering exceptional culinary standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a key member of the culinary team, you will assist the Head Chef in creating innovative, nutritious, and well-balanced menus that cater to the diverse needs of residents. With a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, you will work closely with residents to tailor menus to their preferences and dietary requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development, ensuring that dishes are creative, flavorful, and meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Work with fresh, seasonal produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
  • Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment in the kitchen, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Manage stock control, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Complete regular audits to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
