About the Role

As an Art Teacher, you'll play a vital role in nurturing the creative talents of secondary school students. You'll design and deliver engaging art lessons that ignite their passion for artistic expression and help them develop essential skills. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Implement high-quality art instruction aligned with national curriculum standards across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Student Engagement: Motivate and inspire students to reach their full artistic potential, fostering a love of learning and creativity within the classroom.
  • Lesson Planning & Assessment: Develop innovative schemes of work and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to guide their growth.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring their artistic ideas and collaborating with peers.
  • School Community Contribution: Participate actively in the wider school community and contribute to extracurricular activities that enrich the student experience.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching art at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of national curriculum guidelines and assessment procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and parents.
