About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Outdoor Assistant to join our Museums & Collections team at North Lanarkshire Council. The successful candidate will be based at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge, but will work with all the museums in North Lanarkshire Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the museums are well presented, safe, and attractive for visitors.
  • Use a tractor, forklift, and van, as well as other tools, to support your work.
  • Demonstrate an ability to lift and carry items and undertake tasks such as setting up for events in all weathers.
  • Complete all necessary training and be available for out-of-hours key holding.
  • Work on a rota basis, which may change to meet service requirements, and include weekend working.

Requirements

  • A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
  • The successful candidate must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland.
