Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Livingston, Scotland. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for delivering the commercial requirements of regional new build construction projects across the education and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver day-to-day commercial activities, including measurement and valuation of works in progress, pricing variations, design cost control, and value engineering.
  • Prepare draft subcontracts and manage the ongoing performance of subcontractors, highlighting any issues to senior staff.
  • Assist with the compilation of data for monthly and quarterly reports to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Supervise junior commercial staff, mentoring them and aiding their commercial development.
  • Interface with clients and senior internal stakeholders, attending meetings to discuss project progress and interacting with operational site teams.
  • Participate in the settlement of main contract final accounts.

  • Majority of the projects fall within the education sector, delivering new schools and higher education facilities. Other projects fall within healthcare.
  • The role will involve a combination of office-based work and weekly site visits across the region.

We are looking for Quantity Surveyors seeking a career move or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression. You will have a minimum of 5 years' commercial experience, assisting with the delivery of new build and/or construction projects. Must have experience and working knowledge of managing NEC and/or JCT forms of contract. Strong experience of procuring and managing subcontracts, and an ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors. Relevant quantity surveying degree required.
