Electrical Maintenance Technician
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the upkeep, testing, and management of all electrical and mechanical systems within our facility. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will provide essential support to the Maintenance Manager during their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance and testing of all electrical and mechanical equipment on-site, including: - Electrical systems (controls, panels, PLCs) - Mechanical systems (filling machines, screw feeders, gearboxes) - Pneumatic control and distribution - ATEX (Ex) equipment, as well as facilities and building assets.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, documentation, and reporting of Safety Instrument Systems.
- Assist in overseeing on-site contractors, including conducting inductions and audits.
- Engage actively in project work from initial planning through to final commissioning.
- Maintain and enhance asset integrity program procedures.
- Utilize SAP CMMS for accurate tracking and completion of maintenance tasks.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in managing the workshop and inventory by: - Sourcing and maintaining stock levels - Planning and prioritizing work schedules - Implementing and upholding 5S procedures in the workshop.
Qualifications
- HNC / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Maintenance or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Familiarity with 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Confined Space Entry Trained (minimum Low Risk).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&ID diagrams.
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CAD, and the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- Ideally, possess CompEx (Ex05-06) certification or have knowledge of ATEX regulations.
