Role Overview:
The primary objective of this position is to deliver independent oversight, challenge, and practical support to the organization's first line business units concerning the management of its financial services offerings.
This will encompass conducting formal compliance assessments in accordance with the monitoring strategy, collaborating with the business to pinpoint compliance and conduct risks associated with financial services, and offering guidance on the design and execution of controls.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in compliance, with a focus on consumer credit.
- In-depth knowledge of CONC is essential.
- Familiarity with ICOB is a beneficial addition.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK financial services regulations, with the ability to articulate requirements in clear and practical terms, providing pragmatic and proportionate advice on suitable systems and controls to mitigate any regulatory or conduct risks.
- A solid grasp of regulatory and conduct risk management practices within financial services, emphasizing the importance of delivering positive customer outcomes throughout the consumer credit product lifecycle.
- Experience in leading the design and execution of formal compliance assessments, along with exceptional planning, report writing, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proficient in evaluating policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls, assessing their effectiveness.
- Skilled in drafting compliance-related policies.
- Experience in managing compliance issue resolution and remediation efforts, with a strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies.
