Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetics Specialist to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthetic services to patients across our three hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of anaesthetic services, ensuring a high standard of care and patient safety.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota, providing cover for emergency anaesthetic procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical governance and quality improvement objectives.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in obstetric anaesthesia, with opportunities for further training and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Trust and national guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong clinical leadership and management skills, with experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.
