Healthcare Support Assistant - North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is actively seeking dedicated Healthcare Support Assistants to enhance our teams.
Essential Qualifications: Candidates must possess NVQ Level 3 in Care to be eligible for this position.
We offer exciting roles within the Centralised Outpatients team. The selected individual will collaborate with the Centralised Outpatient team, focusing on developing specific specialty competencies to fulfill service requirements. Working in this area provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement. The role may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays across various trust locations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in specialized areas within Centralised Outpatients, applying competency-based skills.
- Deliver patient-centered care in alignment with the Trust's vision and Nursing and Midwifery strategy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of services, adhering to clinical governance frameworks and NHS performance standards, including the use of digital technology.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
- Help ensure a clean and safe environment within the department.
- Support inventory management and appropriate stock ordering.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in specialized areas within Centralised Outpatients.
- Complete specific competencies to support specialized clinics.
- Continuously develop knowledge and skills to maintain competence.
- Set up clinics to meet service requirements.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
- Participate in required in-service training programs.
- Chaperone patients as necessary.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Utilize digital technology to support outpatient services.
- Safely operate equipment necessary for outpatient activities.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a healthcare-related field.
- Care Certificate.
Desirable:
- Specialty courses in ECG, phlebotomy.
- IT qualifications.
Experience:
Essential:
- Transferable skills and competencies in a healthcare setting.
Desirable:
- Experience in outpatient settings.
- Experience in specialties such as Respiratory, Women's Health, ENT, or others.
- Health promotion experience.
