About the Role

Forseven, a pioneering company revolutionizing the electric vehicle industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer specializing in Procurement and Commercial law to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiating and implementing complex supplier contracts, providing strategic advice to sourcing teams, and managing legal aspects of procurement operations.

This role will operate in a hybrid capacity, offering a unique blend of remote and in-office work. The Legal team is newly created and still evolving, providing an opportunity for the successful candidate to become a permanent member of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and Implement Complex Contracts: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies while negotiating and implementing complex production and non-production supplier contracts.
  • Strategic Advice and Process Management: Serve as a strategic advisor to the large sourcing team on process management, from supplier due diligence and nomination to contract implementation.
  • Procurement Operations and Contract Management: Develop and implement policies and processes to streamline procurement operations and ensure consistency and efficiency in contract management.
  • Buyer Training and Development: Lead buyer training sessions to enhance team capabilities and enable continuous improvement in procurement practices.
  • Contract Management Systems: Oversee contract management systems to ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Supplier Risk Monitoring and Dispute Resolution: Provide legal advice to the business on supplier risk monitoring, including assessing and mitigating risks associated with supplier relationships, and facilitate dispute resolution processes between the company and suppliers.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Law, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' PQE qualified solicitor with experience in commercial contracts and procurement.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience of complex supply chain management in multiple jurisdictions, preferably in the automotive or technology sector.
  • Leadership and Management: Experience in leadership and management of others, with a proven track record of negotiating and drafting complex supplier contracts.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Strong understanding of procurement processes, including supplier due diligence, nomination, and contract management.
  • Contract Management Systems: Familiarity with contract management systems and tools.
