Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Product Safety Expert to join our team at BAE Systems (New). As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and systems, particularly in the area of Industrial Controls Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety analysis and assessment activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of product development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate safety risks, and develop strategies to address complex safety issues.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in Industrial Controls Systems, with a strong understanding of safety regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing safety analysis and assessment activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
