Job Summary

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Glencar Construction. As a key member of our project team, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of our projects, ensuring that best commercial practices are maintained and that the financial and profitability of the job is maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Commercial Management

Collate information for monthly reporting, including CVR (Cost Value Ratio) analysis, to ensure accurate financial tracking and forecasting.

Project Coordination

Deal with pricing variations, project changes, and variations, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up-to-date.

Site Management

Keep accurate records of work on site, including progress updates, site meetings, and site inspections.

Supply Chain Management

Effectively manage onsite activities and change management processes, ensuring that all subcontractors are informed and compliant.

Financial Management

Assist the project team with financial implications of site progress decisions, ensuring that all costs are accurately tracked and reported.

Requirements

  1. Education and Qualifications

A degree in Quantity Surveying (or currently undertaking qualification for trainee positions) is essential for this role.

Experience and Skills

Experience of working on Industrial/Logistics projects would be advantageous, but not essential.

Personal Qualities

Ambition, drive, self-motivation, and pro-activity are essential for this role, as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Requirements

The ability to meet strict deadlines, work on your own initiative, and drive (as the role is site-based) would be beneficial.
