Are you committed to enhancing the behavioral and emotional well-being of students? GSL Education is looking for a passionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our dedicated team, focusing on the social and emotional growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavior support strategies as outlined by educational professionals, ensuring effective management of student behavior.
  • Provide individualized or small group support to students facing behavioral challenges, assisting them in understanding and regulating their emotions.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive educational atmosphere by promoting positive behavior and social interactions among students.
  • Collaborate with educators, special educational needs coordinators (SENCO), and external specialists to develop tailored behavior intervention plans.
  • Track and document student behavior and progress, offering constructive feedback to educators and guardians.
  • Support teachers in fostering a conducive learning environment by applying proactive behavior management techniques during lessons.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with students exhibiting behavioral difficulties in educational or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and resilience to assist students in navigating their emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team, contributing positively to the school community.
