Role Overview: CMM Inspector

Omega Resource Group, a leading engineering client, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Inspector to join our Quality Control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the manufacturing processes, with a focus on the operation, programming, and optimization of CMM equipment. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company standards, especially within the precision manufacturing and oil & gas sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies related to material handling, health & safety, quality requirements, and housekeeping.
  • Accurately interpret and evaluate inspection measurements following relevant specifications and procedures.
  • Review nonconforming products and determine the most appropriate corrective actions, using all available data, experience, and knowledge.
  • Program, operate, and optimize CMM equipment on-site, ensuring efficient use.
  • Review and recommend existing and new products suitable for CMM inspection.
  • Evaluate CMM equipment, tooling, and processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Interpret results from various inspection methods to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Calibrate and operate equipment used in the QC inspection of products or materials.
  • Perform pre-operation daily checks and inspections on equipment.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Raise and process Non-Conformance Reports determining the most appropriate actions based on relevant data.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • Educated to a minimum of secondary school or equivalent (Essential).
  • Knowledge of CMM inspection techniques
  • Proven ability to operate and program CMM equipment.
  • Capable of operating precision measurement equipment.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong experience with manual inspection equipment and techniques within a precision/oil and gas manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas regulations and product standards, such as API 6A, NACE, ASTM, etc. (Desirable).
