About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a large and inclusive primary school in Redbridge. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in Reception and Key Stage 1 (KS1).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to children with SEN, including those with speech and language difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behavioural challenges.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement tailored interventions to meet each child's individual needs.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, providing emotional and social support to pupils as they develop their communication and social skills.
  • Monitor and report on children's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Previous experience working with children in an SEN capacity, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic nature.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and making a positive impact on their lives.
