Job Description

Job Summary

The Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant Support Manager. This position will be responsible for providing direct line management to designated administrative and clerical staff, as well as overseeing workforce rotas, attendance, HR processes, recruitment, and other relevant tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day line management and supervision to the Section Managers.
  • Oversee workforce rotas, attendance, HR processes, recruitment, and other relevant tasks.
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of service.
  • Support service improvement work to ensure efficient, effective, and productive patient access services.
  • Embed quality improvement methodology within the patient access services.
  • Ensure a high quality of training and development of the teams.
  • Be on call for one Bank Holiday per year and be available for Bank Holiday duties in the event of staff absence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
  • Prioritizing and organizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of data protection, IG, and standards for maintaining health records.
  • Computer literate - good knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel and hospital IT systems.

Desirable

  • ECDL/Computer Skills certification.
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
  • Experience of line management in a busy complex administrative environment.
  • Experience of working directly with medical staff and other NHS Allied Health Professionals.
